Mutual Aid

This membership is designed for those that have the financial means to both support a community driven and led organisation and also pay for a person under the age of 17 to train for free at Pony Club Gym.
This membership will be split 50/50 between Incarcerated Trans and Gender Community Fund and for anyone in our community is under 17, wants to access the gym but does not have autonomous financial support.

A bit about the fund...
The Incarcerated Trans and Gender Community Fund is a nation-wide provides financial and material aid to our community currently in prison and those returning home. The fund started in 2020 by a volunteer committee of trans and gender diverse people who have experienced incarceration, have friends and family inside or are supporting incarcerated community members.

Since it’s establishment the fund has been entirely sustained by community donations. We provide funds directly to prison accounts to enable those inside to make phones calls to family, purchase essential items such as toiletries and underwear, post mail and buy necessities to make their time inside a little bit easier. When returning home, the fund provides post-release payments to assist in rebuilding life outside of prison. We also purchase gender affirming underwear, cosmetic products, books and wigs to send inside.

Over 80% of the people supported by the fund are trans women and Sistergirls. 60% are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. These statistics speak to the ways in which racism, transmisogny and on going colonisation lead to targeted policing and criminalisation of First Nations trans and gender diverse people.

We are an abolitionist driven project who believe in the power of mutual aid and community building. Every dollar we receive goes directly to supporting trans and gender diverse people surviving the prison industrial complex.
